Anonymous asked: What's your favorite BROOKYLN-BASED black metal band?

I think the term Brooklyn black metal is used a little too loosely. A lot of bm bands just play Brooklyn often, but they hail from all boroughs (like Agrath and Krallice are really Queens-based). But to answer your question — which I really can’t do because it’s hard to narrow down — my top 3 are Krallice, Malkuth and Black Anvil. I can watch those bands over and over again. They have really different styles and personalities. All three also have members who have other kick ass bands, too.

Next in my list would be Villians and Syphilitic Lust. They do the old school stuff with attitude.

To answer blakethesnake: I dug Liturgy’s ‘Renihilation’

pelicant asked: new burzum, thoughts?

I actually think its a good record. But, I’ve probably listened to the new Darkthrone more than ‘Belus.’ Time will tell. It usually takes a couple months to years for an album to stick for me. Once they do, they stay on repeat like ‘Crack the Skye’ and ‘From Mars to Sirius’

Anonymous asked: Are your waffles really english? Shouldn't they be Belgian? They're much tastier.

I just couldn’t afford the Belgian ones.

Anonymous asked: If you couldn't do band photography anymore, what kind would you do instead?

straight up community photojournalism. I’d probably work for Patch.
